Ohmeda style:
Gas Specific connection is accomplished by notches on the outlet face with pins on the adaptor. The notches and pins will vary in position and size based on the gas required.

Schrader style:
Gas Specific connection is accomplished by "geo-metric indexing." (i.e. each gas has a unique shape and size of the barrel) |

Chemetron style:
Gas Specific connection is accomplished by the position and shape of the latching hole on the outlet face. The latching hole will vary in position and shape based on the gas required. |

Puritan style:
Gas Specific connection is accomplished by "geo-metric indexing." (i.e. each gas has a unique shape and size of the barrel) |

Diameter Index Safety System (DISS) style:
Gas Specific connection is accomplished by gas specific threads and barrel size. The thread diameter and adaptor nipple size will vary based on the gas required. |
